The deal was later confirmed via @EA‘s official Twitter account:

The majority of EA Motive‘s resources are being put toward the upcoming Dead Space Remake, while the studio is now in pre-production on Iron Man. Following that, the studio will begin the lengthy process of production while refocusing its resources. EA has previously announced the first game in the series. Starring Iron Man, it will follow a brand-new plot with some recurring characters. According to reports, Marvel urged the EA Motive to come up with something original and granted a lot of freedom, so fans may expect a new Iron Man plot independent of the movies and comics. The pre-production phase for Motive’s third-person, single-player Iron Man game is now underway. Olivier Proulx, who previously worked at Eidos Montreal on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, is in charge of the team making it. In addition, reports have surfaced suggesting that EA is working on a Black Panther game, codenamed “Project Rainier” as part of their Marvel deal. The game will apparently be a solo experience set in an open universe. It is “quite likely” being developed at EA’s new studio, which is being led by Kevin Stephens, formerly of Monolith Productions, according to Giant Bomb. EA’s new studio is located in Seattle, so Grubb assumes that the game’s codename, “Project Rainier,” is a reference to nearby Mount Rainier. On the flip side, there is almost no information available about the third game. It is unclear at this time whether it will be a single-player or multiplayer experience. As for which superhero will be the main character, that’s still up in the air.
