It seems that the CEO of NVIDIA recently travelled to Taiwan, as reported by DigiTimes, to meet with senior officials from TSMC and its AIB partners. According to recent reports, Dr. Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, has similar intentions to obtain orders for TSMC 3nm and 2nm next-gen wafers. Securing more N5 and 4N capabilities and starting negotiations to get next-generation 3nm wafers were two of the key goals of the trip to TSMC. NVIDIA wants to be one of the many clients waiting in line to have its next-generation chips manufactured on TSMC’s cutting-edge 3nm production node. As a result, the business must make preparations and begin communication with TSMC before the manufacturing stage. Apple, AMD, and NVIDIA won’t release next-generation devices based on the new node until 2024, even though TSMC’s 3nm node won’t begin commercial production until the following year. Therefore, it seems that there will be a lengthy wait before these corporations discuss their next-generation goods. According to reports, the CEO of NVIDIA also paid visits to many AIB partners that are in charge of producing their graphics cards. The purpose of the visit was to check on the efficient management of the GeForce RTX 30 GPU inventory condition. As we all know, when cryptocurrency fell and the PC market shrank, NVIDIA was left with a large supply of GPUs. Recent releases from NVIDIA’s AIB partners include the RTX 3070 Ti (GA102), RTX 3060 Ti (GDDR6X), and RTX 3060 (8 GB), which are all part of the GeForce RTX 30 series and are intended for both DIY and OEM markets. These will assist AIBs in getting rid of a significant amount of their stock so they can concentrate on NVIDIA’s RTX 40 series GPUs.
