Fast forward to today, and this document Gemastu mentioned in their initial story has now been revealed, or at least some crucial parts of it to some lucky people. The document reportedly houses information about future PlayStation games and includes names of several projects that are in development at Sony Interactive Entertainment. Apart from the names (which we’ll get into), nothing else about the document or what else it could have potentially contained was revealed. As mentioned before, this document is not up for grabs for the public, rather, it is available to a select few leakers and insiders only. Gematsu was able to independently verify several titles listed in the document with multiple sources familiar with their development, including the Horizon titles. One of whom is reliable industry insider Tom Henderson, who published more details about the possible projects that could be under work at SIE. Apparently, the document containing all the information was circulating on 4Chan and was being shared privately with industry insiders and reached Mr Henderson. According to Insider Gaming (Tom’s website), the new games revealed in the document are:
Guerrilla Games: Horizon Online Game (GaaS, Multiplayer, PC/PS5)Firesprite: Heartbreak (Survival Horror, PC/PS5)Sumo Digital: Carbon (Open World, Multiplayer, PS5)Lucid Games: Redstar (Vehicle Combat, Multiplayer, PS5)Kojima Productions: Ocean (Open World, PS5)Ballistic Moon: Bates (Survival Horror, PS5/PC)London Studio: Camden (GaaS, PS5/PC)
You will notice the “Horizon Online Game” mentioned here does not sound like the co-op mode that was leaked alongside the remaster yesterday. And you’d be right, as this is something entirely different that nobody has reported on. It could just be that Sony is treating the co-op mode as its own thing, kind of how Naughty Dog is breaking out the “Factions” multiplayer mode from Last of Us Part II into a standalone title.
Death Stranding 2
Interestingly, another rumor from the list above has already circulated around the internet, claiming that Kojima is working on Death Stranding 2 (codenamed ‘Ocean’ in the list) and offered Stadia the exclusive sequel on their Platform. However, Google reportedly turned down the project due to the single-player nature of the game. The rumor emerged after Stadia officially announced the closure of its cloud gaming services. As 9to5Google reported: Further revealing the reason for turning down the deal, 9to5Google wrote: The document’s authenticity has not been verified yet, but the rumors that allegedly originated from the document fit the puzzle pieces perfectly and somewhat paint a blurry picture about the contents of the document that Tom shared.
