What we know about the Elden Ring Tabletop RPG
FromSoftware will be working on the Tabletop RPG in collaboration with group SNE and Hironori Katou. So why is FromSoftware going the Tabletop RPG route for Elden Ring? Is it supposed to be some sort of cash grab to milk the franchise? Well, turns out tabletop games such as Dungeons and Dragons, also known as D and D, have been seeing a lot of play despite being around for decades now. The game has also been featured in mainstream shows such as Stranger Things which has generated a lot of traction for Dungeons and Dragons and tabletop RPGs in general among the Zoomer generation. This has led to a number of videogames getting their very own Tabletop RPGs because why wouldn’t players want to delve deeper into their favorite franchises. The publishing company behind the Tabletop RPG, Kadokawa, has revealed information that the tabletop RPG book based on Elden Ring is on its way. Sadly, the book will feature an exclusive early release in Japan around the Spring of 2023. This implies that the Tabletop RPG will feature different versions across the globe or just a Japanese and an English version. For no, there’s no official word when the Elden Ring Tabletop RPG will make its way to the West. And as for the cost of the RPG, we still have no idea as of now and it’s likely that this information will be released as the release date gets closer and closer. So far, we’ve found out that the Elden Ring adaptation will be handled by Group SNE and the game will be produced by Hironori Katou, the same team that was responsible for the Dark Souls Tabletop RPG. It’s pretty clear that the book is set to feature a number of rules as well as information regarding monsters, spells, items, and much more. Without a doubt, it will be interesting to see FromSoftware’s hit title transformed for the table and how it will play out. The actual Elden Ring game offers players a lot of character customization and a plethora of possibilities to choose from, so it makes sense to translate the game into a Tabletop RPG. Tabletop RPGs are not for the faint of heart and can take up days, weeks, or even months to finish. But people enjoy them a lot for the good times, the snacks, the setting, and the drinks. It’s a great way to bond and pass time and the Elden Ring Tabletop RPG will bring loads of videogame fans and Tabletop RPG fans together. So, what do you think of the new Elden Ring Tabletop RPG? Is it a fast cash grab created by the company to profit off of the success of the videogame or will it actually be a passionate and rich tabletop RPG?
