Death Stranding Director S Cut Replaced By The Base Game

The sequel to Death Stranding was recently announced at The Game Awards, and this giveaway celebrates that news. Since the next game isn’t coming out for a while, players have plenty of time to catch up with this free copy. In addition, with the hype that this game had already created, it was understandable that a large number of people would want to buy the game. However, Epic’s servers went down a few hours after the game was made free, making the platform unusable. What actually happened was that Death Stranding Director’s Cut was given away for free at the very beginning of the sale. But after the servers were shut down, it was replaced with the base game.

With the small window at the beginning, anyone who could, got their hands on the more premium version of the game, leaving others disappointed who were a little late to claim. This, however, was expected by those who knew. Yesterday, we covered how the next free game on Epic would be Death Stranding, and the leaks also showcased the base game, instead of the Director’s Cut. This means that the whole thing was an honest mistake from Epic’s side. The Director’s Cut doesn’t add much to the price of the game, but getting something for nothing is always more exciting.
